Apple yesterday unveiled it’s next generation iPad. The guys over at Cupertino have brought some subtantial changes with the latest iPad. The iPad 2 is 33 percent slimmer than the original iPad and weighs just 1.3 pounds, plus it will be available in both white and black. The device also has both rear and front facing cameras.
The iPad 2 features a new A5 Chip incorporating Dual-core processors and up to 9X faster graphics. While the specs have been bumped up, the device still occupies the same low power as the original iPad and the battery life remains the same 10 hours.
Another new feature is the HDMI video out which provides output upto 1080p. You can also charge while using the HDMI out.
Apple has also announced new apps such as FaceTime which will allow you to call other iPad 2 owners or even your iPhone 4 pals. iMovie and GarageBand were the other 2 apps to be revealed, each costing $4.99.
Despite all the changes in the new iPad, the price still remains the same at $499 for the 16GB WiFi model.
The new iPad will start shipping on March 11 in the US and in 26 countries or more on March 25.
