Are these really the original logos of the biggest tech companies?

Glossy, shiny and attractive. That’s how the current day company logos look like. But what about a decade or two back? How were the company logos back then? You’ll be amazed when you have a look at the original logos of the biggest tech firms. Here is a before and after of the logos of 5 of the biggest technology firms – Apple, Microsoft, Google, Facebook and Motorola.

1. Apple: The original Apple logo depicted Newton sitting under a tree with a shiny apple above his head. Thank god they changed this logo. Imagining this one on the back of my iPad kinda makes me feel dizzy.

2. Microsoft: The original Microsoft logo had the company name split in 2 words – ‘Micro’ and ‘Soft’. Perfectly seems like a 70s logo.

3. Google: Wait. Was Google a kids toy manufacturer in it’s early days? The old Google logo seems so bland in comparison to the shiny new logo.

4. FaceBook: “OMG! Really? I would have never logged into my account if this was the logo on the home page.” Well not to worry, they’ve changed it, but yes, this was FaceBook’s logo in it’s early days.

5. Motorola: Looks like a signature, eh? The original logo used a script like font and looks so amateurish when compared to the current logo.

The original logos of all these companies were dull and colourless. But maybe we feel so coz we’re comparing them with today’s shiny logos. In those early days designers didn’t have access to the advanced Photoshop tools that can make your designs seem so attractive today. These logos are a reminder of how far we’ve come and the progress we’ve made.
