So you’ve created a FaceBook page for your blog/website and wish to keep it updated? You can always manually update it each time you add a new post, but if you are adding new stuff frequently, it can be a little tedious. There’s another way that’s totally automated, just set it up and you’re done. It’ll automatically update your FaceBook page whenever you add a new post. The Tech Junky FaceBook page is also updated automatically. Slick, right?
What we’ll be using is a FaceBook app called RSS Graffiti. This nifty little app will do everything for you, without the need of you interfering. To begin with, I’m assuming that you’ve already set up your FaceBook page. If yes, then simply follow the steps below.
How to automatically update your FaceBook page with the latest posts –
1. Login to your FaceBook account and open up the RSS Graffiti app.
2. Click on Add New Publishing Plan. Give it a name and click on Create Publishing Plan
3. Once you’ve created a plan, hit Add New Source. A box will pop up asking you to Add a New Source. Enter the URL of your website or the URL of your feed and add it. You can also add a Twitter handle or a hash # tag. After adding the URL, check whether your Feed Title and Feed URL are displayed correctly. Set the Update Frequency to “As soon as possible”, Maximum Posts per update to “System Maximum” and Post Order per Update to “Publish older posts first” and save it.
4. Now click on Add New Target. Another box will pop up. Under Choose Target select your blog/website’s page and under Publish on Behalf of, choose your page or yourself, whoever’s name you wish to publish the content by. Also select the Post Style. You can even link your Bit.ly account if you want to track links.
5. Everything’s been set. All you gotta do is enable the Publishing Plan by clicking on the Off button. It’ll turn to a green On.
From now on, everytime you add new content RSS Graffiti will automatically update your FaceBook page.
