This year’s E3 brought out great stuff from both Microsoft and Sony. Both console makers unveiled their technology
regarding advanced motion sensing. While Microsoft showcased Project Natal, Sony demoed it’s PlayStation Motion Controller.
Microsoft’s Project Natal:
Project Natal is the code name for a “controller-free gaming and entertainment experience” by Microsoft for the
Xbox 360 video game platform.. Based on an add-on peripheral for the Xbox 360 console, Project Natal enables users
to control and interact with the Xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller, in a natural user interface
using gestures, spoken commands, or presented objects and images.
Sony’s Motion Controller:
The PlayStation motion controller is a motion-sensing game controller in development for the PlayStation 3 video
game console by Sony Computer Entertainment. Consisting of a handheld wand, the controller uses the PlayStation Eye webcam to track the wand’s position, and inertial sensors to detect its motion.
Both these technologies are awesome and are set to change the gaming landscape.
Personally I found Project Natal to be ‘WOW’. I mean it’s just great to have something like this. But when you think a little more about this, you’ll have some doubts like how long would you be able to move while playing a game? How will you run in a game with a large area? Will this work well without buttons? Or will background objects have any effect on the motion sensing? Well if MS is able to perfect the system, then there is nothing stopping it from being a revolution.
When you see Sony’s PlayStation Controller, you find it to be pretty amazing. With 1:1 precision, the motion sensing will be awesome. While Natal has the Wow factor, I feel that Sony’s product is more practical and will be of better use while gaming. I really loved the part when you see the guy in the video hitting arrows with the controller.
Currently both the products are in development and are not ready yet. We’ll be able to experience both the technologies next year. Be it Natal or the Motion Controller, both will bring amazing experience for XBox 360 and PS3 owners.
Which one do you feel is better? Let us know in your comments.

I think Natal is completely and totally outrageously better than Sony’s little wand! i mean think about it, while the Playstation is looking at this wand and predicting your movements based on the wands, Natal is looking straight at YOU and predicting your movements based of YOU. there is no beating that, i bet Natal could probably follow the wand around with its camera better than the Playstation itself could! This is definitely the future of gaming, and i am very excited to see how they are going to try and use this revolutionary technology to improve video games, and the way we all play those video games forever. No doubt about it, Natal is the way to go. if Sony doesn’t come up with a new and much better idea than what seems to be nothing more than an improved Wii controller, then they are going to be absolutely crushed by Microsofts new toy.

I agree with Edy, I think Sony’s will be more practical for playing games that have that need for buttons and so forth. But I think the Natal has the bigger wow factor. It seems it will be marketed toward a broader audience. It’s the game console for the whole family, not just the kid. I’m excited to use it.

Sony’s Motion Controller would be fun, but I think Microsoft’s Natal would be more fun to play because it offers more to playing than just moving controllers. People can use their legs to play.

I think Microsoft is way beyond Sony with natal. Sony has indeed come up with an improved Wii controller while MS has come up with something completely new and outrageous. I agree that for some games a controller with buttons gives a better experience but what would stop MS from adding that to the Xbox too? I’m sure the natal technology will be able to track some kind of controller. That means that MS will end up with the most cutting edge revolutionary technology. Sorry Sony

I think that the Sony Motion Controllers are better than Project Natal as the fact as it is more efficient and precise plus the PlayStation Eye can already do EVERYTHING Project Natal can do except for the machine possessing a mind of its own.
Voice Recognition, Facial Recognition and Smile/Mood Recognition etc, will come in a future system update.
Plus Sony has patented using ordinary househeld items as CONTROLLERS!
THAT IS THE NEW GENERATION plus 3D Real D Tech
