Google Easter Eggs

At times you may have searched for something on Google but instead Google showed you something unexpected. Chances are you stumbled upon an Easter Egg. Basically Google Easter Eggs are surprise features and games which show up when you search for some specific terms or when you press some special keys in other Google products. Google has added many Easter eggs to its products and services. Mostly the results are hilarious and cool. Here is a list of Easter Eggs in Google Search, ie. some Google search terms which produce unexpected results.

1. Do a barrel roll: Searching for “do a barrel roll” or even “Z or R twice” will cause your search results page to rotate a full 360 degrees.

PS: The “Do a barrel roll” will also work on upcoming Android Jelly Bean 4.1.

Zerg Rush Google Easter Egg

2. Zerg Rush : Try searching for ‘Zerg Rush’ on Google. Don’t mind if it totally surprises you. Upon searching for ‘Zerg Rush’, your search results page will be converted into a game and Os will start eating up the results. Your task here is to stop the letter ‘O’ from destroying the search results.

3. Once in a blue moon: If you search for “Once in a blue moon”, you’ll get some vague result, which you’ll actually come across once in a blue moon.

 4. Recursion : When you search for ‘Recursion’, Google comes up with “Did you mean recursion?”. WTF? That’s the term I searched for!


5. The loneliest number: Search for this term and the result will be 1.

6. A bakers dozen: Searching for “A bakers dozen” will result in the number 13.

7. The number of horns on a unicorn : Oh you know the answer! It’s 1.

8. Binary: If you search for ‘binary’, ‘hexadecimal’ or ‘octal’, Google will display the number of results in the respective number system.
